Y = Because! Why not?
About The Website
Anna has been designing and developing websites for over 20 years. Her passion is to reflect nature, take a load off eye strain and make it enjoyable. This website flowed out of her, inspired by years of living in the redwoods, then living right near the beach. She wants you to feel like you're still there even when you're not in the water!
About The Location
We meet at the beach, the park and at Anna's home office. SurfHab was previously located on Capitola Avenue, but sadly the building became inhabitable after taking on water during a storm. Fortunately the products were untouched, but another situation was needed immediately. Miracously, a door opened at just the right time to house the products, even though it is not a public location.
It was necessary to close the business for a time, regroup, restructure and make some new offerings. The products have been put online and hand delivery is now available. We hope someday to have a location again for surfers to come to. Please do get in touch if you'd like to support SurfHab towards this goal!
About The Owner
Owner and creator, Anna Greco of Capitola, wholeheartedly loves surfing and being surrounded by nature. She was blessed later in life to fulfill a 15 year old's dream to live the surfer lifestyle. Being called to the ocean and riding along the face of the waves is indescribable by any means. It can only be felt deeply by getting in and being there.
Anna loves to spread her joy of surfing to others. She loves to encourage people and come alongside them and be there to help them overcome fears and obstacles. In order to facilitate that further, she created The Surf Haberdashery.
About The Goods
It's all in the details. SurfHab's solid brass S.O.S. whistle is shown here, which is great for signaling others and chosen for its anti-corrosive properties.
Surfhab product lines come from direct experience in the water. Rich colors and materials that reflect nature are incorporated and each stage of the routine is considered.

The social club is for surfers who want to be together, encourage each others' growth and just have fun!
Your club director, Anna, had a youth that was filled with natural highs shared with great friends. Her youth group was incredibly creative and organized, in addition to all of her sports team, dance and music groups. After school and university, she had a career in the Boston area as a professional musician. In addition to solo and collaborative work, Anna was a music director and produced shows and formed her own community choir that performed in the area.
Anna's passion in life is to create something that can bring people together and have deeply meaningful experiences.
Get Your Chair and Start Hanging Out! >>>About The Classifieds
Local postboards around town are hard to find now. Anna's desire is to bring back systems that worked and shouldn't have been thrown out, such as these useful postboards. Since The Surf Haberdashery doesn't currently have a building to put one in, Anna has used her skills in web design to create an old-school style postboard online, just for locals in Santa Cruz County. It has a simple page for the public and an expanded page for club members. And of course a paper version is available too!

There's nothing quite like being mentored one-on-one. It's better than sitting in a class being taught. It deepens the bond between people during the passing of the tradition and it deepens the subject being taught. Even your potential for a higher level of skill increases. And it is only achievable in person. It is not possible to experience this through a computer.
Anna was mentored at university when she earned her bachelor's degree in piano performance. She got to spend a lot of time with her professor, a woman who was an amazing teacher and mentor. She remembers spending many hours at the professor's studio and her home to play on different pianos. Sometimes it was just the two of them and sometimes the other piano majors all spent time together. It was a very special experience and she considers herself very blessed. It equipped her for a professional career and taught her the importance of being together.
Anna offers the same kind of experience for surfers who want to take the journey. It's different than having a lesson in the water once or twice, it's time spent together regularly on dry land studying waves, chatting at Anna's studio and sharing meals together while talking about the journey. And time spent together once in a while with Anna's mentorees who are on the same journey.
Become a Mentoree >>>About Tides
The pull of the moon on our ocean is fascinating. Tides are so important to know when choosing the right time to go. Anna learned this after some minor injuries and was so grateful to other surfers for sharing information. After learning her favorite time to go, she now spends time studying the charts and creating her own charts that go with her life routine. Here she shares them with you. It's great for surfers who like to get in while the beach can be safely navigated and when the reef is not to close to the bottom of the waves.
